Top 5 Social Networking Apps on iOS in Turkey: Q3 2023 Performance

In the third quarter of 2023, the top five social networking applications on iOS in Turkey showed diverse performance trends in downloads, revenue, and weekly active users, according to Sensor Tower data.

Threads, an Instagram app had a notable presence with downloads peaking at approximately 525K in early July, followed by a decline to around 49K by the end of September. Weekly active users saw an increase from 447K at the start of the quarter to over 1.1M in mid-August, before stabilizing around 815K towards the end of the quarter.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a steady download rate, with numbers fluctuating between 140K and 206K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users remained consistently high, starting at 10.3M and slightly increasing to approximately 10.4M by the end of September.

Telegram Messenger experienced moderate revenue growth, peaking at around $10K in mid-July. Downloads were highest in late July with about 141K, and weekly active users showed a gradual increase from 1.7M to nearly 1.7M by the end of the quarter.

Facebook saw revenue variations, with a peak of around $5.7K in late July. Downloads remained relatively stable, averaging around 50K weekly. However, weekly active users showed a downward trend from 13.3M in late June to approximately 12.7M by the end of September.

Messenger maintained a steady download rate, ranging from 18K to 29K. Weekly active users slightly declined from around 5.9M at the beginning of the quarter to about 5.6M by the end.
